The most exciting AI features coming to iOS

Earlier this year, OpenAI demoed a conversation between developers and a chatbot that was so life-like, some people thought they'd stumbled into a sci-fi movie. Now, after months of speculation, Apple has finally dropped its own long-awaited AI bombshell.
We're covering Siri's AI upgrades below. But first, here's a rundown of the new "Apple Intelligence" features coming to iOS in the next few months. Spoiler alert: your iPhone might soon know more about your life than your best friend.
Images:
Create custom, AI-generated “genmojis” and illustrations in seconds, including ones that feature yourself or your friends. It's like having a personal cartoonist in your pocket, minus the messy ink.
With the new image wand, transform rough sketches into detailed images or generate custom images based on your text. Finally, you can turn those doodles into masterpieces without a magic wand.
Clean up and enhance photos automatically, and find specific photos by describing them in plain language. Say goodbye to those endless scrolling sessions trying to find that one perfect selfie.
Text:
Proofread emails, summarize key points, and generate different ways of writing your emails, notes, and keynotes to find the option that works best for you. It's like having a personal editor, minus the constant coffee requests.
Transcribe meetings into the Notes app, then ask for summaries and other information about your call. Perfect for those meetings that could have been emails.
With the iPad’s new smart script feature, clean up your handwriting in real-time or copy text from a message or webpage into your own handwriting. No more pretending your handwriting is bad because of the digital age.
Privacy:
Low-level AI tasks will take place directly on your device, while servers will help with more intensive AI tasks. Think of it as your device getting a little help from the cloud when it’s out of its depth.
Apple says that your device will be able to understand things about your personal life — like which one of your contacts is your daughter, where her soccer game is, and how long it will take to get there. Your phone might know your schedule better than you do.
But it insists this information is encrypted and can’t be accessed by anyone else — not even the company itself. So, no worries about Siri spilling your secrets at the next Apple keynote.
Apple’s ability to tell a clear story about how they will help normal people like you get stuff done is night and day compared to Google.

THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Siri is back and better than ever with new AI

When Siri first debuted over a decade ago, it was a groundbreaking virtual assistant for smartphones. However, as chatbots like ChatGPT have taken on more complex tasks, some users have drifted away from Siri. Now, Apple is ready to bring Siri back into the spotlight with impressive AI enhancements.
Personal Touch: Apple aims to distinguish Siri by focusing on your personal needs. Siri will connect the dots between apps and understand how different aspects of your life fit together. For instance, if you need to fill out a form with your driver’s license info, Siri can retrieve a picture of your license from the Photos app, identify your ID number, and automatically fill in the form. It’s like having an assistant who’s an expert at scavenger hunts.
Siri’s New Colleague: When Siri encounters a problem it can’t solve alone, it will turn to OpenAI’s ChatGPT for help. You can ask for information about a specific photo or document without needing to switch to the ChatGPT app. Think of Siri and ChatGPT as your personal dream team—minus the office gossip.
Helping Hand: Instead of navigating through menus to find a particular setting or preference, you can simply tell Siri what you want to do using natural language, and it will take you directly to the setting. It’s like having a tech-savvy friend who actually listens to you.
Another Nice Feature: If you need to focus on a task without interruptions, you can ask iOS to filter out less important notifications and only show you the critical ones. This feature, along with many others, will gradually roll out across Apple’s devices starting this summer and fall. Finally, you can silence those pesky app updates without missing that vital call from your pizza delivery person.
Honestly, I'm thrilled about this—my phone might finally stop buzzing every five minutes.
